A process based on partnerships and innovative projects
Groupe Silicomp wishes to contribute to the emergence of innovation and its development. To that end, the Group committed itself to three centres of excellence.
A competitiveness cluster is defined as a group of companies, training centres and research units coming together in a given area, committed to promoting partnerships in order to develop synergies around innovative projects and with the necessary critical size for international exposure.
- Minalogic is based on the original combination of micro-electronics and software technologies. It brings together 52 partners, including industry, research and higher education participants, as well as local and regional authorities. On 12 July 2005, CIADT awarded the global level "competitiveness cluster" certification to the Minalogic cluster. For more information (in French)
- The Images & Networks cluster is centred on new imaging and network technologies (both fixed and mobile) for the distribution of content. The objective of the cluster is to focus on the revolution brought about in the future by new Imaging digital technologies (Terrestrial Digital TV - DTV, High Definition TV - HDTV, Video on Demand - VOD, television through high speed internet connections,...) and the new image broadcasting modes in particular the new fixed and mobile digital content distribution networks. - Finally, Fime contributed to the development of the "Secure Electronic Transaction" (SET) competitiveness cluster. SETs include all electronic, IT and data transmission techniques enabling the safe and confident exchange of information in wide-ranging application fields. Behind SETs, we find the underlying major challenges of the information society, as well as very relevant issues of privacy protection, consumer rights and the need for traceability of certain acts.
