22 July 1999: Groupe Silicomp has joined the J-Consortium. The charter of the J-Consortium is "to help to advance the creation of specifications and related activities for what we refer to as real-time and embedded extensions for Java Technologies". Hewlett-Packard and Microsoft are two key members of this consortium.

Activities and Services Provided

• Advanced development: within Groupe Silicomp, the Research Institute continues its role of technology development.
  
  
• Technology Solutions: Groupe Silicomp and the Research Institute can propose Technology Solutions in areas that include Java for embedded systems and object middleware for industrial applications.
  
  
• High Level Consulting :in addition to Advanced Development projects and Technology Solutions, the Research Institute provides high level consulting in areas where it has expertise.
