Librius designs, develops, manufactures and markets comprehensive, on-line services for the Trade publishing industry, and provides a distribution and retail sales system to deliver digital books to consumers. Librius services are based upon an Internet electronic library/bookstore, called the Librius World Library, through which in-print, out-of-print, hard-to-find and never-before-published books may be purchased via personal computer over the Internet and downloaded, generally in less than a minute, into specially designed portable, electronic book reader devices. These devices are about the size and weight of a paperback book and hold up to ten average full length books. The Librius World Library also stores each consumer's personal library of purchased books which may be retrieved and downloaded into the reader devices at any time. Consumers who do not have a personal computer available can access the Librius World Library from special service terminals at their local bookseller. A visit to the Librius World Library offers customers a rich, interactive, book-browsing experience that is enhanced by Librius' proprietary Personal Librarian who guides the customer to new book and author discoveries that match each person's individual reading tastes.
