Designed a resource reservation model suitable for Java Virtual Machines, to protect mutually suspicious JAVA applications from denial of services. Contributed to a Scalable High Available Web Server Project, focusing on software tolerance issues.
Co-founder of the Grenoble Research Institute. Technical lead for the micro-kernel R&D team. Ports, extensions and enhancements to the Mach micro-kernel on Intel x86, HP-PA, PowerPC, x86 Multiprocessor and intel i860 Paragon multi-computer platforms. Study and implementation of a real memory Mach micro-kernel for Cray.
Technical lead in various ports of Unix kernels to Motorola 680x0 microprocessors. Parallelized the File System Switch, the STREAMS services and various device drivers. Co-authored the first X/OPEN system services guide.
Member of a research project for Ph.D. thesis on decomposition and evaluation of high level Relational Database queries. Assistant Professor in the Data Base theory field at Université Pierre et Marie Curie of Paris.
