I have been working for the OSF Research Intitute since April 1995.
The company was then known as the OpenGroup Research Institute.
Now, it is the Silicomp Research Institute.
I have acted as Grenoble RI webmaster before the creation of the
Java Group in May 1995.
Since then, I have worked mainly on the following projets :
- JavaPort
- Porting the JDK and beta versions of HotJava to UNIXes
- Adaptating the build mecanism
- Rewriting the IO module, to improve performance and avoid HPUX problems
- Improving of the robustness
- Writing a native thread version of JDK1.1 for linux
- JLite
- Adapting the JDK1.1 for embedded systems, mainly MACH and VxWorks
- Project leadership for the VxWorks version
- Designing a portable native thread layer
- Validating the natives threads on HPUX, Solaris, OSF, MACH, Enware and VxWorks
- Optimizing memory consumption
- Adaptating the build mecanism and the JCK test suite for remote execution
- FAJITA
- Remote JIT compiler for embedded systems
- Responsible for the embedded part of software
- JCOD
- Management of the remote JIT compiler (method selection, logs...)
- Extension of the VM to support profiling notifiers in Java
- Responsible for the architecture of the embedded software
- Writing profilers and decision makers
- Implementation of the SH3 code generators
